Book Design.

While working at Trope Publishing Co., I’ve had the unique opportunity to design, curate, and help edit coffee table books focused on art, photography, and travel. The following books are examples of these projects.

Chicago’s Fine Arts Building

In Chicago's Fine Arts Building, celebrated writer and Fine Arts Building tenant Keir Graff takes readers behind the scenes of this cultural hub. Initially conceived as a space for artists' studios, a home for the city's working artists, the building was an immediate success, but the Great Depression brought a long, slow decline to the building. Graff explores the building's history, its revitalization, and its cultural place in the city of Chicago. Featuring interviews with current tenants and access to the building's archives, including historical photos and artifacts, and a foreword by bestselling author Gillian Flynn, Chicago's Fine Arts Building sheds a new light on this storied building and its long history.

Racing Unfiltered

When motorsport and automotive photographer Jamey Price first saw the NASCAR promotional film cameras from the 1990s show up on another photographer’s social media feed, he knew he had to have one. These cameras were never made to take outstanding photos. They were inexpensive, poorly made, and plastic. The winders break. The shutter stops working. They will just freeze in below zero temperatures. But they also capture magic.

From the IMSA races to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Formula 1 races around the world to Monterey Car Week and Lamborghini events, Racing Unfiltered chronicles Price’s year-long journey to capture the highs, lows, and candid moments of motorsport racing, all through the lens of vintage film cameras.

Trope Rome

Trope Rome, the ninth volume in the Trope City Edition series, celebrates the rich cultural and historical heritage of Italy's capital city. The collection highlights the photographic images by 13 independent photographers from Rome and beyond, featuring the city's architecture and urban landscapes in a new light. This carefully curated and bound collection of over 200 photographs offers a new perspective on Rome. Each chapter is accompanied by a map, along with the locations where the photographs were taken.

From the Colosseum and the Roman Forum to St. Peter's Basilica and Vatican City to the magnificence of the Pantheon, these images command a strong point of view. Showcasing both the historic elegance and timeless grandeur of contemporary Rome, the images reveal distinctive and dramatic visions of one of the world’s greatest cities.
